How to Make a Minion Costume

Hey, so Mrs. Minion here is competing in minion costume contest. The costume took about a week (mostly because of the paper maché dry time) and cost about $50 (less if you already own an exercise ball).

Supplies (there's lots, but hey, it's an awesome costume)

Exercise Ball (slightly wider than yourself)
Paper Maché - Mix 1 part water with 1 part flour an a tsp of salt.
Construction Adhesive (Either Liquid Nails or Loctite will work)
2 empty/new quart size paint cans (sold at Home Depot in the paint section)
    Yellow Spray Paint
    Duct Tape
    Hot Glue
Craft Foam Sheets, 1 black, 1 white
    Utility knife
    small nuts and bolts

Supply Help:
Empty Paint Cans - They sell them right across from the spray paint at my Home Depot. You need 2.

Step 1
Blow up your exercise ball and measure the diameter. Now roll the polywall panel into a tube until it's the same diameter as your ball.

Step 2
(1 part flour, 1 part water, a little salt. Exercise balls have a seam around the middle which really helps in getting a perfect dome. Just paper maché past the seam a little.

Step 3
Attach the paper maché dome to the polywall tube you made in step 1. Let the ledge dry.
I trimmed my dome with scissors to the seam line the ball made in the paper maché. If it doesn't fit, keep trimming the dome little by little until it slides in (or you force it).

Step 4
Cut arm holes and a mouth.

Step 5
Paint the whole thing bright yellow.

Step 6
Make the goggles. You can't cut the bottoms straight off.

Step 7
Make eye balls! Cut a cheap small rubber/plastic play ball in half. Flip the ball inside out. Slide it in the goggle from the side you cut.  Attach with duck tape. Be careful... the paint cans are sharp!

Step 8
Attach the goggles with eyeballs to the minion (now that it has eyes, we'll call it a minion). I taped the paint cans together, ran a bead of construction adhesive around the rims of the paint cans, then taped them to the minion on the sides. Center the eyes right over the seam between the dome and the tube. If you put duck tape on the sides of the cans, the goggle strap will hide it.

Step 9
Cut goggle strap, teeth, and hair from craft foam sheets. Hot glue in place.

Step 10
Hot glue some blue fabric to the minion so he's not naked. Your minion transformation is complete.

DIY Holiday Crafts

The holiday season is upon us! October means the beginning to the holiday marathon that is Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. For me the holidays also mean arts and crafts. The holiday season is a perfect time for crafting! Perfect for creating homemade gifts or just making your own holiday diy crafts, holiday crafts, or holiday cards.

Halloween: So the first holiday on the horizon is Halloween; probably one of the best holidays ever invented by anyone anywhere. Halloween brings a lot of DIY crafting opportunities. Carving pumpkins is probably the #1 Halloween craft. You can create your own Halloween mask or costume, Halloween card, Halloween scrapbook page and more. I love that there is now downloadable and printable scrapbooking layouts, paper piercings, and digital stamps for all my crafting needs. This holiday also brings great opportunity for the craft lover. Thanksgiving cards, fun and artful decorations, and of course who can forget the good old Thanksgiving turkey hand. Christmas: As soon as Thanksgiving ends the Christmas lovers start all things Christmas. People are crazy. So anyways, Christmas brings more crafting opportunities thanks to the added present aspect to this holiday. Decorations, scrapbooking, Christmas cards, and Christmas party invitations are just some of the many crafting opportunities during the Christmas month.

Applying Dramatic Eyeshadow, Tips and Tricks

Lady Gaga and Beyoncé seem to know what dramatic eyes are worth lately. The telephone music video eyeshadow tutorial practically jumps out of the screen and gives you a snoopy kiss on the cheek. Popular eyeshadow styles also include the sixty's "barely there meets Cleopatra look" and the eighty's, "use every color you can and then some" style. Making a dramatic eye is all about color, contrast and eyeliner.

Dramatic colors come from playing lights and darks off of one another. The higher the pigment the more colorful the eye makeup will be. Cirque Du Soleil has some fantastic looks for dramatic eyes. Henna is not just for Hindu's anymore. Henna is a thriving and growing industry in tattoo and long-wear makeup alternatives.

Men and Women Are NOT Equal to Weight Loss

For starters testosterone and estrogen are dramatically different from man to woman and even more specific to weight loss leptin levels are also different.

Leptin plays a vital role in the control of appetite, metabolism and the signals involved in weight gain and weight loss. Leptin levels rise when you eat and fall when you're not eating. This effect seems to be worse in women than in men and it's because women have higher leptin levels to start with that drop far lower than a mans when they diet.

In other words, when it comes to leptin levels and dieting, women have higher 'highs' and lower 'lows'. It's these dramatic swings in leptin that can lead to the crash and rebound weight gain that so many women experience on standard restrictive diets.

In contrast a man's leptin levels rise and fall very predictably and within a relative small range. This explains why men seem to have an easier time losing weight than women. Women on the other hand experience dramatic swings in leptin that require a more intelligently designed diet to minimize these big swings in leptin levels. Women need these strategic "eat-up" days throughout their weight loss program to prevent their leptin levels from crashing and rebound weight gain from happening.Visit Venus factor for more Reviews tips.
